Introducing… Mr. Awesome of Seattle | Entertainment
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Mr. Awesome of Seattle is a father of two, world champion cycler and executive at global financial services Morgan Stanley. But above all, he is dedicated to giving back to his community and sharing his love of Seattle, he said.
Dan Becraft won the Mr. Awesome of Seattle award in the Alar Productions contest Saturday. He won against 15 men competing for the award.
The contest included a short runway walk, demonstration about a passion, dream date idea and interview question.
Becraft gained an edge in the competition with his unique dream date, which he said would include: A couple’s massage at home in the morning, followed by breakfast at Portage Bay Café. While they enjoyed breakfast, he would have a housecleaner clean his date’s home. After breakfast they would take a scenic tour around Lake Union by sea plane. Then, go to the Space Needle for lunch. They would work off their meal with a three-hour walking tour of Pike Place Market, the Seattle Sculpture Park and Elliott Bay Park. The night would end eating Indian food at Shalimar in the University District then a personal photo shoot at Kerry Park at sunset.
If all that seems impossible, Becraft wowed judges by working with each company to donate gift cards to help create his dream date in real life. He auctioned off the date package at the event for $601, which he said will go toward funding the Mr. Awesome of Seattle contest 2012.
Becraft said he would spend his $1,000 winnings on a trip to Stockholm and Paris with children in August.
